Bij PHS zijn er meestal geen duidelijke afwijkingen in het gewricht zelf, zoals bijvoorbeeld bij <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Artrose<\/span><\/span>. De klachten ontstaan vooral in de structuren rond het schoudergewricht, zoals pezen, spieren en slijmbeurzen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"410\">Bij PHS kan onder andere sprake zijn van:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"411\" data-end=\"485\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1am0o58\" data-start=\"411\" data-end=\"431\">\n<p data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"431\">peesontstekingen<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"131rql9\" data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"458\">\n<p data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"458\">slijmbeursontstekingen<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"11qwzon\" data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"485\">\n<p data-start=\"461\" data-end=\"485\">kleine spierscheurtjes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"774\">De oorzaken van deze klachten kunnen zeer verschillend zijn. In veel gevallen gaat het om zogenaamde degeneratieve veranderingen: slijtage of overbelasting van de weefsels rondom de schouder. Dit komt bijvoorbeeld voor door herhaalde bewegingen, ouder worden of langdurige overbelasting.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"776\" data-end=\"1050\">De meest voorkomende symptomen zijn <strong data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"835\">pijn in de schouder<\/strong> en <strong data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"863\">bewegingsbeperkingen<\/strong>. De pijn kan optreden bij het optillen van de arm, bij bepaalde bewegingen of zelfs in rust. Hierdoor kunnen dagelijkse activiteiten zoals aankleden, werken of sporten moeilijker worden.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1052\" data-end=\"1296\">Bij aanhoudende klachten is het verstandig om een fysiotherapeut te raadplegen. In sommige gevallen kan de huisarts of specialist een <strong data-start=\"1186\" data-end=\"1205\">lokale injectie<\/strong> geven met een pijnstiller en\/of ontstekingsremmer om de klachten tijdelijk te verminderen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1364\">Een fysiotherapeut kan helpen met een passende behandeling, zoals:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1555\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17gswrk\" data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1444\">\n<p data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1444\">mobiliserende oefeningen om de beweeglijkheid van de schouder te verbeteren<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1atgupi\" data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1512\">\n<p data-start=\"1447\" data-end=\"1512\">gerichte oefeningen om spieren rondom de schouder te versterken<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1lflohc\" data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1555\">\n<p data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1555\">adviezen om overbelasting te voorkomen<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1796\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Met de juiste begeleiding kunnen de klachten in veel gevallen verminderen en kan de functie van de schouder weer verbeteren.
